Liam Faulkner
My name is Liam, I was lucky enough to be the first trainee of horticulture at the garden museum. The summer of 2025 was a greatly timed experience in my journey in becoming a designer as it was in between my second and third year of my bachelor's degree in landscape architecture at Greenwich. I had no previous horticultural knowledge, but now I have finished my degree and am now working in practice. I can say that the range of skills learned from my time at the museum does help me in my career. When I look back on working at the garden museum it is such a great memory, the work I did at the museum varied from day to day which is one of many beauties of gardening. The two placements, being Shute House and Benton End were also a wonderful experience to see horticulture in different settings.
Lastly I would also like to thank all of the team that made this traineeship possible and everyone who I met along the way, what an opportunity.
